From our Vigo office, led by partner Javier González, we analyse the effect of Donald Trump's tariff policy on Galician companies, which have increased the number of legal and tax consultations to anticipate an uncertain scenario.
In the Atlántico de Vigo report, our partner Nuria Estevez Boullosa, an associate in Lener's Fiscal and Tax Department, points out a growing concern in an equally strategic area: advising individuals with high-value international assets, both foreigners who decide to move to Spain and Galicians who have returned from countries such as Argentina, Mexico or Uruguay:
‘Their queries relate to the profitability or value of their investments in the US, whether it is still efficient to maintain business or asset structures there, the tax implications of a restructuring or relocation to Spain or the EU, or how to optimise taxation when part of the income, dividends or capital gains come from a jurisdiction that tightens its trade policy’.
