María José Torres Padilla
María José is currently Director of Lener's Seville office and partner in the Restructuring area. She will join Lener in June 2021. Practicing as a commercial lawyer since 1999, she has developed most of her professional life in Montero-Aramburú, the Direction of the Legal Department of Grupo Prasa, and the Direction of the Commercial Department of Sanguino Abogados in the last years before joining the firm.
She specializes in restructuring and has extensive experience in commercial law, insolvency law, and distressed transactions in her more than 25 years in the practice of law.
María has coordinated due diligence processes, advising entities in insolvency and corporate restructuring procedures, shareholders conflicts resolutions, advising clients in the negotiation and formalization of commercial contracts. Likewise, she has been delegated assistant to insolvency administrations.
She currently teaches Insolvency Law at the Universidad Privada San Isidoro (attached to the Universidad Pablo Olavide).
Member of CESUR (Círculo de Empresarios del Sur de España).
