The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA) has published Nº 713 of its magazine, in which there is a very interesting article written by Mr. Hernán del Frade (Technical Adviser for Safety and Environment in the Cantabrian Sea) regarding autonomous ships (MASS).
On page 38 of the article, reference is made to the national working group on autonomous ships, whose scope of work is the regulatory framework for autonomous ships, and which is coordinated by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine.
In this regard, among the different collaborating companies (stakeholders), we would like to highlight the role of LENER as the only participating law firm through Beatriz Huarte Melgar (LENER lawyer specializing in Maritime Law), who provides legal advice to the working group.
